Results 2015-2016

Here are the results for pupils in year 6 during the academic year 2015-2016.  This is the first year that pupils have been assessed using a standardised scoring system as the previous system, which involved levels, is no longer used.  The standardised scoring system set 100 as the score pupils needed to achieve in a test in order to be operating at Age Related Expectations (ARE).

% of Pupils achieving expected standard

Reading/ Writing / Mathematics = 55%                  National = 53%

Reading = 64%                                                                   National = 66%

Writing = 93%                                                                    National = 74%

SPAG = 64%                                                                        National = 72%

Mathematics = 71%                                                        National = 70%

Pupils have attained broadly in line with peers nationally.

SPAG = Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar

Average Progress

Reading = -0.4 (-2.1 to 1.3)

Writing = 1.8 (0.1 to 3.5)

Mathematics = 0.6 (-0.8 to 2)

This progress measure is new and relates to progress rates of the cohort from their starting point in a different curriculum.  A progress rate of 0 represents average progress.  Therefore in reading pupils on average have made slightly less progress than peers nationally (although this is statistically insignificant), in writing pupils have made more progress than peers nationally (and this is statistically significant) and in mathematics pupils have made more progress than peers nationally (this is not statistically significant).

% of pupils achieving a high level of attainment

Reading = 18%

Writing = 7%

Mathematics = 16%

These pupils are deemed to be attaining significantly higher than peers nationally.

The average scaled score for reading and writing are detailed below.  This shows the average score attained by pupils in 2015- 2016.

Average scaled score for reading = 102

Average scaled score for mathematics = 103
